Harry Ray has represented buying and marketing groups since 1985. During the past thirteen years he served either as general counsel or as special advisory counsel to numerous groups in a wide range of industries. Such groups include 

(a) Several groups of distributors within the automotive industry, including automotive parts warehouse distributors, paint, body and equipment distributors, automotive tools distributors, automotive engine parts warehouse distributors, and distributors of replacement parts for performance cars; 

(b) groups in the Christian product industry, including a group of Christian retail bookstores and a group of Christian outlet bookstores; 

(c) a group of manufacturers in the plastics industry; 

(d) a group of distributors of large signage printing equipment; and 

(e) several miscellaneous other groups, including a group of businesses who purchase blank sports apparel items for imprinting by screen printing or embroidery, a group of retailers of home storage containers and organizational items, a group of retailers of garden and nursery supplies, a furniture retailing group, a group of vending machine operators, a group of office supply dealers, and a group of funeral home directors. 

Mr. Ray has written several articles on buying groups and on antitrust law in general which have been published in trade journals and professional legal journals. 

He has spoken before several conventions and seminars on these topics. 

Mr. Ray has also developed a substantial practice in trademark law.   This is a natural extension of his work with buying 

groups, who frequently have trademarks that need to be registered. In addition to representing buying groups, Mr. Ray also serves as general counsel to a number of business clients. 

Not only does he guide business clients through the major transactions, such as acquisitions, sales and mergers, but he also assists them with day to day issues requiring legal advice, such as employment issues, disputes with competitors, suppliers and customers as well as providing advice with regard to tax issues. 

He is a 1979 graduate with distinction from Emory University School of Law. He was awarded the Order of the Coif which is a national honor society recognizing academic excellence in law school students. 

A member the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Chattanooga Bar Association, of which he is a past president. 

He is also a member of the Antitrust Law Section of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the State Bar of Georgia. 

Harry Ray is also active in his community. He seves on the Bioterrorism Committee of Hamilton County.  He is a past  Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mocassin Bend Mental Health Instutute. He has served as president of a local Chamber of Commerce, and as president of the Pachyderm Club, a Republican organization. He successfully managed the campaign of O. Michael Carter for General Sessions Court Judge of Hamilton County.  He has also served as a member of the State Executive Committee of the Tennessee Republican Party. 

He also is active in his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is married to Minnie Alice (Sissy) Ray. They are the parents of seven children.
